Ji/Yin Earth
Cho/Yin Earth (Ox) Year
Ding/ Celestial Yang Fire
Chou/ Terrestrial Yin Water(Rat) Month
Yi/Yin Wood You/ Yin Metal (Chicken) Day
This is the beginning of Li Qiao , Spring Standing, and the beginning of the Solar New Year.
This month's basic feng shui framework
Wu/ Celestial Yang Earth, which is the boundary
conditions set by heavenly energies and the orbits of the
planets.
and
Yan/ Terrestrial Yang Wood, which is the energy of big
trees.
Yan converts to:
-Bing/Celestial Yang Fire, which is The Sun,
-Jia/Celestial Yang Wood, which is The Expansion of Space and Solar Wind and
-Wu/Celestial Yang Earth, which is, again, the boundary
conditions set by heavenly energies.
So there's a doubling of the energy of heavenly boundary conditions at this time.
Discussion about this month's window
This month's feng shui display worked with the big tree aspect of the
relationships in this Li Qiao to create an earthy pleasure garden in
miniature. What were its elements?
For me, the star player this month is this incredible oak
branch that I found while hiking at a friend's ranch in Sonoma county.
This branch is an incredible world in itself. The place it came from has
very special good associations for me. These associations relate to being
a native Californian, the depths of a lifelong friendship and how time
reveals some stories only over generations.
Part of the oak branch has these wonderful shelf mushrooms
growing out of it. These kinds of mushrooms are powerful wood spirits.
We enhanced this part of the branch with a beautiful hyacinth to bring
out the Wood/Wind connection.
Many visitors this month are getting wonderfully lost in the
terrain we created with these elements...
Including some old friends...
This frog just keeps making it into our feng shui displays.
Each time, it plays a significantly different role. Here, it embodies the
energy of the Sun.
This is a display of textures of the forest. We used pine bark,
pine cones,
Pine needles, fresh live flowers, moss...
And these wonderful antique Japanese screen holders in the
form of green ducks.
The ducks brought the energies of the Wind, the ceramic of
Earth, the Woody green,
And the boundaries of screen in a single
embodiment.
And let's not forget that this is the very beginning of the year
of the Tiger!
Take home lesson
You can find the elements of your feng shui display anywhere. All it takes is to lightly hold your intention to build the display. The pieces that you will use will come together on their own.
These processes are a very refined aspect of nature. Is it
any wonder that nature itself seems to want to participate
in these creations?
